Jack's 3rd Birthday

So here they are, the official birthday pictures. Matt's parents, sister Kate, and her two boys were in town for the festivities. Our friends the Balls came over for cake and ice cream. I wish I could have gotten these pictures on in the right order, but here they are anyway. There was a small upset when Jack realized he didn't want any help blowing out his candles. We tried a re-do, but the damage had been done. Mom and Dad have made a mental note that the birthday child blows the candles out on his own first, and then they can be re-lit for everyone to join in. Oops! The past 2 years Jack has had a Halloween party for his birthday, but he insisted on a Mickey Mouse Club House party, so we kept it simple and he was happy.

Candy Corn soda from the Balls (and yes, it was as bad as you are imagining and of course the kids loved it).
Cars cars (if you know what I mean).
And of course, motorcycles.
Yea, presents!
And yes, I realize those were in terrible order. Is there a way to fix that once they are on?

Jack turns Two!

We had a Halloween party again this year for Jack's birthday! It was lots of fun and the kids were so cute in their costumes, although you'll notice you won't see ANY of Jack in his Peter Pan costume! We decorated cookies right off the bat and the costumes came off.

N, C, and Nate decorating cookies.

B, Alex, and Bailey over at the girl table decorating cookies. This is one of our family's favorite holiday activities.

N, Nate, and Jake helping Jack blow out his candles. We re-lit them several times so they could each have a turn!

Jack was most excited about this part! All day when we talked about his birthday he kept acting like he was blowing out his candles. He loved it and really liked having his own cake. Look at that cheesy smile! That is a boy who likes his birthday

This is really dark, but it was the funniest part of opening presents. Jack's friend Jake gave him a little dinosaur and he was so excited about it he was roaring and attacking Scout with it!
