Scout's 2nd Birthday

Grandpa and Grandma Stephenson were in town the day after Thanksgiving as they were driving to Texas and they were lucky enough to be here for Scout's birthday! We went to Buffalo Wild Wings and then home for cake and ice cream. Scout was pretty excited about the cake and blowing out her candles (or at least the kids were).

Scout turns One!

The Smith household loves a party, so of course Scouts birthday couldn't go uncelebrated. We made a cake, got her some fun dog treats, and a new flamingo toy. After singing and blowing out the candle we had a barking contest (Nate's idea) and played games like "cat, cat, dog" and "Bark" which was tag where the person who was it had to bark until they tagged the next person. The kids had a blast and Scout, like a typical lab, loved the attention!
The kids were a little more excited about Scout wearing the party hat than she was!

Something Disgusting for Halloween

Apparently we missed that window between when your baby starts getting around and when they get in to something really disgusting! Upon finding her here, in Scout's food, I pulled 4 pieces of large breed dog food out of her mouth where they were packed inside her cheeks like a chipmunk. Luckily we had just switched from puppy food, which she would have been able to swallow. Then again, maybe it was the switch that attracted her, as she never showed any interest before! Disgusting Ry! But Happy Halloween!
