The Training Wheels Come Off!

Nate has not been too interested in taking the training wheels off his bike. Whenever we bring it up he says "we'll do it when I'm six." Last Monday the kids were off school and we met some friends for a picnic. Nate's friend had recently taken his training wheels off. Even though the two of them didn't really play together that day, Nate must have been watching him and thought it was pretty cool because when we got home that night he wanted to give it a try. He did pretty well, but mostly with Matt running along side holding on most of the time. The next night he was off, starting and stopping on his own and going up and down the street! It was the 100th day of school that day and one of the moms in Nate's class made these shirts for the kids. They say "100 Days of K" on the front and "Mrs. Connelly's Kids Rock" on the back. She stapled a slip of paper to the sleeve that said not to wash it for a few days (in case you were wondering what that was). For those of you who don't have kids in school, the 100th day is a big deal these days, and everything is a bigger deal in Nate's class than anywhere else.

Nate is doing so great on his bike! Lilli just saw the pics and said, "I want to do that!" But we don't have great weather right now like you guys. We'll have to wait for spring!
