Bailey's 5th Birthday

Here she is, ready to open all these fun presents.

Fairy dress up outfit from Ry.
Tinkerbell fairy figures from the boys (they picked these and they were a huge hit while the girls watched the Tinkerbell movie during the party).

Nate was very excited about decorating for the party, but I didn't get very good pictures of what an awesome job he did.
Bailey picked strawberry star cupcakes.
Bailey and her cute friends.
The whole gang, Jack, Nate, Avery, Bay, Alex, Chloe, and Riley.
Bailey's actual birthday was Sunday so we had the Balls over for cake that night. After the fiasco on Jack's birthday with his candles, everyone is keeping their distance!

And this is Bay "dancing a jig" in her new pajama bottoms, not quite ready for her birthday to end. We took some really good video of all the kids, but haven't been able to get that working. Happy Birthday Bailey!

One for the Record Books

We had a luau for Bailey's 4th birthday party. She's known for months that that was what she wanted and has talked about it constantly. There was so much excitement leading up to this party between Bailey and Nate and I, how could it be anything but great?!
Bailey and her best friend Alex at cake time.

The palm tree cake
The Limbo. Everybody loves the limbo.

Definitely the highlight of the party.

We wrote the kids' Hawaiian names on monkeys, they colored them, and then we played "Pin the Monkey in the Tree." Bailey was Pailei and Nate was Nakana, which they loved and have still been calling eachother!

"Musical Surf Boards," like musical chairs, was fun because in stead of a kid getting out each time as a board was removed, they had to get on the remaining boards together. They swam around the tarp while the music played.

We bowled pineapple bowling pins with a real coconut, which broke on the first frame. Luckily it was Bailey. Matt taped it together and we bowled on! Nate was a little upset about the coconut milk spilling on the pavement because he wanted to drink it! They liked it.

Sure our kids are young, so we've had few child birthday parties. Eleven to be exact, but only 4 without parents. This was definitely the craziest! We had kept the kids up late the night before taking them to build-a-bear and then dinner and then waiting up for the premier of Man Vs. Wild, so Bailey was an emotional wreck, crying any time anyone looked at her wrong and Nate was bossy, wanting everything to go his way. Then the usual birthday party chaos added to it. Matt and I couldn't help but laugh when the kids were all waiting to eat cake and Bailey was in her room balling her eyes out. I had to tell her that if she didn't come out we were going to let Nate blow out the candles. It worked, and everything ended OK. All Matt could say as the last kid left was that it was the longest 2 hours of his life! We decided next year we'd just let Bailey take a friend to dinner! As for parents of children who attended the party, I think they all had a good time, they don't usually notice that kind of stuff. It was certainly a memorable experience. Definitely one for the record books!

Happy Birthday Bailey!

Bailey's 4 today! We're going to celebrate by having pink pancakes and pink milk for breakfast. Then she's going to take cupcakes to preschool. When I pick her up from preschool we're going to go to Nate's school for lunch! We usually go out and meet Matt for lunch on the birthdays, but with Nate in school and Matt a week away from the fiscal year end, we decided we'd go to the school to eat with Nate, something Bailey has always wanted to do. Tonight we're going to go to dinner and then to the mall to do Build-A-Bear. It's a surprise and Bailey and Nate are going to be so excited! I love the kids' birthdays!! Tomorrow is the party, a Luau with Bailey's little friends. I'll post pictures after.
